Chris brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set honed through a long career in leadership marked by managing large, geographically dispersed, and demographically diverse workforces.
He served as Chief Operations Officer at West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC), where he managed an extensive portfolio spanning community services and remote operations across Arnhem Land and its offshore island communities.
Director of Community Services
Susan draws on expansive professional experience from working in Government, Non-Government and Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations in creating sustainable and safe communities for all. Susan’s extensive leadership experience in both remote Northern Territory communities and metropolitan areas will ensure that community services delivery in the Barkly region will create meaningful change and have beneficial social impact, through culturally safe community engagement and inclusive collaboration.
Susan’s dedication to the wellbeing of individuals, groups, and communities, in conjunction with ethical leadership, is supported by a tertiary academic background in Social Work and Community Development, Leadership and Management and Aboriginal Studies.
Director of Operations and Remote Communities
Brody recently joined the Barkly Regional Council after 16 years living and working in remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory.
Working previously also with the Federal and State Government, he remains passionate and committed to Indigenous advancement and capacity building.
Having built his reputation on improving service delivery in communities and the rebuild and repair of several large Aboriginal Corporations as Chief Executive, Brody remains passionate to assist our remote communities.
Currently studying a Bachelor of Law with CDU, he plans to utilise these skills in representing and advocating for mob.
Director of Infrastructure and Fleet Services
Since commencing his role at the Barkly Regional Council in 2023, Surya has leveraged his extensive expertise and experience in project management, strategic asset management, and infrastructure development to lead his team in planning and executing outstanding outcomes for infrastructure projects. His leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment engage stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, punctually, and with maximum efficacy.
With a Master's degree in Construction Management from Deakin University, Surya's dedication to excellence and his profound impact on the community continue to shape the future of the Barkly Region.
