Foster a dog

When we love, respect and take care of our animals they are our friends for life. A happy, healthy dog is a happy, healthy community.

The Barkly Region Council is proud to launch the Foster Dog Initiative, offering community members a unique opportunity to provide temporary care for our rescued dogs. Fostering is crucial in preparing these dogs for adoption, allowing them to experience a safe and loving environment while awaiting their forever homes.

By becoming a foster carer, you will help ease the transition for dogs as they adjust to family life, giving them the best chance of success when they find a permanent home.

If you want to make a meaningful impact and offer a second chance to dogs in need, simply fill out this form and drop by the Council or contact us at reception@barkly.nt.gov.nt.au or rory.muir@barkly.gov.nt.au.
