News: Barkly Weather Radar

Locals are being invited to fill in a survey to help reinstall the Barkly weather radar.

The Barkly Radar Action Group invites locals to answer a questionnaire about the financial impact the closure of the Barkly Radar has had on the community.
In June 2015 local residents, cattle producers and aviators were outraged at news that the Tennant Creek weather radar would be switched off. Meetings were set up with representatives from the government and the Bureau of Meteorology to discuss options.
However, it was decided that the weather radar would be decommissioned. Local electrician Mike Nash will not give up on the fight and would like locals to fill in a questionnaire.
Mike needs the questionnaire back by early November 2016, so the action group can compile the figures and get a new submission going for Canberra. Call Mike on 0417 804 169, email nashy@mne.com.au or download the survey here.
