About the Role

As a Senior Training Officer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programs and people initiatives. Collaborating across various departments, you will identify current and future competencies, capabilities, and skills needed within the Council. Your expertise will create targeted learning solutions that support employee growth and align with our strategic goals.

 

The Essentials

  • Significant experience in a training and development or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and delivery of training needs analysis, learning and development plans and face to face training.
  • Highly developed communication skills including a demonstrated ability to consult, liaise, influence, and provide advice/education.
  • Highly developed time management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with a strong focus on and commitment to quality customer service.
  • Comprehensive knowledge, or demonstrated ability to gain knowledge of Council processes, policies and systems.
  • Demonstrated high level attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively operate computer systems including ELMO HRIS and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously with support from management.
  • Well developed time management with the ability to adapt to conflicting and changing priorities.
  • Commitment to uphold Council’s Code of Conduct, Workplace Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities policies.
  • You know communication is the key! You communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.   • You use your creative skills to achieve success! You design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective learning experiences through applying various instructional methods, techniques, and technologies, to adapt to different learning styles, preferences, and needs.

 

The Finer Details

  • Full-Time position paying Level 8 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
  • Annual Salary of $87,014.91 per annum ($3,346.73 gross per fortnight).
  • Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
  • 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
  • Relocation Assistance of up to $5,000.
