About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting and guiding employees through their HR journey? Barkly Regional Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide practical and timely support, advice, and direction on the full life cycle of HR activities, making a meaningful impact across our remote communities.

 

The Essentials

  • Bachelor qualification in Human Resources, Administration, Management, or other relevant qualification and/or 3 years relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Critical thinker with a constructive approach to problem-solving. Will have the ability to identify issues and opportunities and provide recommendations and solutions in order to reach consensus with multiple stakeholders.
  • Well organised with demonstrated ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, accurate, and concise reports.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture including current and emerging issues.
  • A current Northern Territory manual driver’s license
  • A current National Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).
  • A current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Ideally you will have at least three years’ experience in a HR role, with an understanding of local government and working in remote communities.

  • You will have exposure to all aspects of the employee life cycle, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and recruitment, selection and retention. You will also have experience working with or managing a HRIS.
  • Most importantly you are committed, innovative and collaborative, with an ability to work under pressure to support our leaders. You will be flexible, resilient, and adaptable, and bring a high level of cultural sensitivity.

 

The Finer Details

  • Full-Time position paying Level 9 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
  • Annual Salary of $91,220.34 per annum ($3,508.47 gross per fortnight).
  • Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
  • 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
  • Relocation Assistance of up to $5,000.
