About the Role
Are you passionate about improving community safety and wellbeing? Barkly Regional Council is seeking a dedicated Community Safety Coordinator to lead and manage the dynamic Community Safety Service, ensuring its alignment with the Community Safety and Wellbeing Program (Night Patrol) under the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet’s operational framework. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the safety and wellbeing of the Barkly region’s communities.
The Essentials
- Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in Community Safety/Community Engagement programs.
- Demonstrated background in remote community development.
- Current National Police Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).
- Current Northern Territory Working with Children Check (Ochre Card).
- Current Driver’s Licence with 4WD remote area skills.

- You have proven leadership and organisation skills and can demonstrate managing multiple community-focused projects, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- You are skilled communicator and can build strong relationships with a wide of stakeholders, using your communications skills to foster trust and collaboration.
- You are passionate about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the community with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by remote communities.
The Finer Details
- Full-Time position paying Level 8 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
- Annual Salary of $87,014.91 per annum ($3,346.73 gross per fortnight).
- Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
- 11.5% Superannuation.
- Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
