Residents are advised that Dawson River Weeper trees and
Callistemon Rose Opal shrubs will be planted along selected streets in Tennant
Creek for two weeks during March.
The Tennant Creek Local Authority (TCLA) has allocated $20,000 out of
its 2014/15 discretionary budget for the beautification plan.
Preparation for tree planting began with a Dial Before You Dig survey,
and a Power and Water survey is expected before Easter.
Residents of Peko Road, Hilda and Cubagee Streets, Zigenbine Court and
Chittock Crescent will be kept informed of the schedule.
Workers from Barkly Regional Council (BRC) Depot and Barkly Work Camp
will assist with the planting. Council will endeavour to minimise disruption to
residents during the planting of trees and shrubs and apologises for any
inconvenience caused.
