News: NT Administrator Visit
The Northern Territory Administrator was given a tour of the new swimming pool complex during a recent trip to Tennant Creek.

His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM and Mrs Marie Hardy
met several staff from Barkly Regional Council and toured the pool following
the investiture of Northern Territory recipients of Australian Honours and
Awards the previous day.
At a special ceremony in the Council Chambers, the Administrator
invested two Tennant Creek recipients of
Australian Honours and Awards announced in the Queen’s Birthday 2015 Honours
List: Mr Elliott McAdam AM and Mr Philip Merry ESM.
Mr McAdam was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia
in the General Division for his significant service to the community of Barkly
and to the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory.
Mr Merry was awarded the Emergency Services Medal for his
work with the Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES), which he joined in
1996, and held the position of Deputy Unit Officer at the Tennant Creek
Volunteer Unit since 2006.
